LEE BARNARD- OWNER, OPERATOR, CHIEF INSTRUCTOR Kyosahnim Lee Barnard is the owner/ operator and chief instructor of Jaguar Sport Karate. He has been doing martial arts since his childhood. His martial arts training were occasionally interrupted by his duty to his country as a Marine and Police Officer. In 1990, Mr. Barnard was deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm with the marines. In the early years Mr. Barnard competed from 1981-2006. He has competed in over 800 tournaments and was once crowned the AANF, IKBA, and AAU champion. He had an outstanding amateur kickboxing career of 86-4. He made his professional debut in 1988 and had a professional record of 3-0. His tournament experience includes point sport karate tournaments, Olympic style Tae Kwon Do tournaments, and full-contact kickboxing. He entered law enforcement in 1989. He had a successful career as a police officer for over 16 years in both Utah and California. Assignments included; Jail Officer, Detective, Field Training Officer, Gang Officer, Graffiti Investigator, and Weaponless Defense Instructor. He has a BS Degree in Criminal Justice and is still a sought after Graffiti expert in which he has given public speaking engagements, authored one book as well as magazine articles on the topic. Lee was frequently seen at boxing gyms in Baldwin Park, Pasadena, and Oxnard trying to hone his boxing skills. He also ran a Tae Kwon Do program for at risk youth through the Oxnard Police Activities League. He continued to compete in Tae Kwon Do as well as 12- law enforcement karate tournaments. He earned the Silver medal at the International Law Enforcement Games and in his last year of competition in 2006 he earned double gold at the Western States Police and Fire Games as well as the Grand champion title at the Order of the Dragon tournament. He holds a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (World Tae Kwon Do Federation) issued by the Kukkiwon and a 3rd Dan Black Belt in American Freestyle Tae Kwon Do (United States Karate Alliance). He also holds rank in Won Moo Hapkido and Shin-Toshi Karate. Other styles practiced have included Shotokan, Wado-Ryu, Shoreikan, Danzan-Ryu Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Boxing.
