PROGRAMS
Lil’ Cubs Program- (Ages 4 to 6)
The goals of the Lil’ Cubs Program is to promote social skills with other children and adults. They will learn to show respect and follow instructions. They will also develop their motor skills appropriate for their age. This class includes games that assist them with their coordination, focus, strength, and balance. The student will learn self-discipline there will be times that their martial arts training will be just plain work. Self-discipline will involve the control of emotions and behavior in class. Practical child safety is also taught in this program; how to call 911, rules regarding strangers, basic self-defense techniques, and much more. Every student will come with specific goals and desires by attaining these goals the student will gain confidence in their abilities not only in class but in life as well.
Children’s Program (Ages 7-12)
The confidence, discipline, and control your child learns today will determine their level of happiness and success they will experience as an adult. This program is designed so the student will improve their grades and learn to respect others. This program also focuses on leadership skills, increased attention span, better coordination, and lifelong goal setting skills. Our students are taught to become leaders and not followers in their peer groups. Martial arts are a fun, exciting, and challenging way of honing their physical and mental abilities. It is a structured program with a means for advancement. To advance in the program you must not only know the techniques taught but emphasis is placed on the student’s self-discipline and focus in class. Many rewards and awards can be achieved by demonstrating positive behavior skills in and out of class.
Teenagers/ Adults (Ages 13 and up)
Martial arts are a fun and challenging way of getting you into the best shape of your life. You will lose weight, have more energy, and develop a strong, toned, and healthier body. Training impacts premature aging and can result in a longer, healthier, more exciting life. Martial arts are the perfect lifelong activity. It can be practiced at any age and does not require natural flexibility or physical talent. The student gains flexibility through our stretching techniques, which can decrease the chances of injury in everyday life. Plus you will learn the ultimate in self-defense. The mental qualities learned are self-confidence, control and discipline to achieve success, mental calmness in stressful conditions, stress management, and lifelong leadership skills. Our curriculum was designed to fit all levels. We guarantee that you will enjoy the workouts and the friendships that come along with the training and with students who have similar goals.
STORM (Special Team of Role Models)
Student must be a green belt and have assisted in 50 classes to be eligible for the STORM uniform and its patches, which includes the “Junior Leader” patch and title. The green belts through blue belts are considered the leadership phase of Jaguar Sport Karate. However, the mere fact that a student reaches the green belt is not the only requirement-- the student should also show leadership potential. Here at Jaguar Sport Karate we believe that “Big leaders start small.” More great leaders are needed in today’s world and through the benefits of being a STORM team member we hope that we produce great leaders. The STORM uniform can be worn during any class or studio function except testing.
Competition Team
A student must be a yellow belt or above and have competed in one competition to be eligible for the Competition Team. The Competition Team uniform can only be worn on Competition and STORM team training days and competition. The uniform cannot be worn during regular class or testing. The Competition Team is for the dedicated student with the proper drive and desire to become a great martial artist. On team days it will be lots of hard work. If the student does not act according to the standards of Jaguar Sport Karate they can be dismissed from the team.
Demonstration Team
Students from the Competition Team and STORM make up the demonstration team.
Police Defensive Tactics
The Police Defensive Tactics course is for active Law Enforcement Personnel only. The techniques taught are based on Junsado (The way of the combat expert), USA Aikijujutsu, Robert Koga, and Gracie Resisting Attack Procedures for Law Enforcement. Classes are taught by Lee Barnard who besides earning his black belts was a police officer for over 15 years and is certified as a Weaponless Defense Instructor by California Peace Officer Standards and Training.
Jaguar Fitness
Jump start your fitness plan geared at melting away the pounds, toning the body, and enabling a healthy active lifestyle.
Workout consists of:
Aerobic and anaerobic cardio conditioning, kickboxing, strength training, martial arts drills, abdominal toning and strengthening, flexibility training and plyometrics
What are workouts like?
First and foremost, workouts are fun! Workouts are challenging. Be prepared to venture outside of your comfort zone. Workouts consist of varied routines that range from cardio kickboxing type classes to circuit and interval training. Training focuses on three key areas; strength, flexibility, and endurance.
A healthy active lifestyle is a key to achieving balance in your daily routine. Whether you are in great shape or just looking for a new challenge Jaguar fitness is for you.
Mr. Barnard has studied certification material from FitTour USA as well as ACE (American Council on Exercise). Jaguar Sport Karate is registered with the President’s Council on Physical Fitness.

High Octane Cardio
HOC is based on conditioning that boxers or competitive combat sports athletes might call roadwork. The workout combines cardio such as punching bags, jumping the rope, and muscular endurance exercises such as push-ups or sit-ups. HOC differs from other workouts because it combines cardio with explosive kettlebell exercises. The result is a fat loss program that will exceed your wildest expectations.The negative is that it is not an easy program and it separates the champs from the chumps.
| You are required to have your own kettlebell. Kettlebells can be ordered for you up to 25 pounds through Jaguar Sport Karate. If you choose weight over 25-pounds then you would need to order through another outlet. Our recommendation is Muscledriver.com. |
